Garb Thing

Is Thing coming and you haven’t a stitch to wear? Does “dressing for ritual” mean remembering to wear your hammer on the outside of your shirt? Let’s fix that! You bring the fabric and Jen will help you fashion it into spiffy pre-Christian clothing.

In these classes, you will spend a weekend learning to draft patterns and sew them into garments. You will learn how to finish garments (handsewing stitches, seam finishes and edge treatments, fasteners) and what accessories to wear. If you want an entirely machine-made outfit, have the fabric, and are good at following directions you should be able to finish it within the weekend; hand-sewing and other finishing may take much longer but you should be able to finish on your own afterwards.

The last Garb Thing event was on the weekend of May 17-18 of 2008. We are not sure when the next one will take place, but we are toying with sometime in the Fall of 2008. =)
